5 questions for me:

  • What is the dream you most want to achieve?

Be able to work from home with a flexible schedule – maybe writing – and make at least double my current salary.  Okay, yes it’s a dream, but who knows…….

  • If you’ve ever been in love, what was it like? If you’ve had your first kiss, what was it like? If not, what is your favorite dessert?

Being in love is like never wanting to end a conversation/phone call/visit.  Thinking about that person all the time and just the thought of them brings a huge smile to your face and a little flippy-thing to your stomach.

  • What do you do when no one’s watching?

I eat chocolate!  Lots of it.  Sometimes I buy Lindt Truffles and hide the bag so the girls don’t know and I sneak them when they are not around so I don’t have to share.  I also take Hershey kisses and put them on a plate in the microwave until they are melted, but just enough to still hold their shape.  Heaven!  M&M’s are good in the microwave too – just until they start looking shiny/wet, then they are ready.  Melted in the middle but still hard on the outside.  As I write this, I am thinking that maybe I have spent too much of my time creatively eating sweets in my lifetime……  I did just do a whole post about marshmallows…….

  • What is a really embarrassing moment you’ve had?

I have 3 children – 2 of which are teenage girls – so evidently most of what I do is embarrassing, or so I’m told.  Once in 8th grade we all had an assignment where we had to give a speech to the class.  I don’t remember what it was about, but I was fine for a few minutes of my presentation, and then just FROZE.  I couldn’t find my place on my notes.  I tried to speak, but my voice wouldn’t even work.  All the kids were staring at me.  It felt like an eternity – and it was if you are a middle schooler.  The teacher finally, very kindly told me I could sit down.  I wanted to crawl in a hole and die!!!

  • What book that was assigned to you to read by a teacher did you most enjoy reading?

I have no idea!  I had a concussion a few years back and I think high school got wiped out of my memory, like little scrabble tiles falling out of my head.  That’s how I envision it.  I do remember reading Animal Farm and Huckleberry Finn, I think…..  I have had to read a lot of books to stay current in my profession.  I just finished Innovator’s Mindset about educational reform which is quite good.

The questions I have for my nominees are:

  1. What is the dream you most want to achieve?
  2. What is the thing that you are most excited about at this point in your life?
  3. What do you do that others might find weird or quirky?
  4. If you had to pick a theme song, what would it be?
  5. What did you want to be when you grew up?  Did it work out or did you change your mind?

My favorite post to write was My Daughter’s Rabies Tag or My Sister and the Rest Stop. My most viewed post is You are Not a Kardashian!

  3. Wow, thanks for the nomination. I’ve never done awards because with our extended travels I can’t always rely on having a connection. But really appreciate you thinking of me. I love reading about your family.
