Marshmallows😊❤

A hidden fact about me is my secret love of marshmallows.  I mean LOVE.  I can eat 10-20 roasted marshmallows at the time!  I know that’s a bit much, but love makes no sense sometimes.  It’s something about the crusty outside and melted middle – YUMMMMM!

The other part of it is – I’m a really good marshmallow roaster.  I think I have perfected the art of roasting.  I can get the outside perfectly roasted, without burning, and the inside melted throughout.  Sometimes I like to get the very outside roasted and eat just the outside layer, then keep roasting the next layer.  Delicious!

I think if marshmallow roasting was in the Olympics, I could easily represent the US – and probably bring home the gold.  I was lamenting my love of this and my obvious talent (wink) with my family last night to many eye rolls.  I try not to brag.  I’m not good at a lot of things – but this, I KNOW I am good at this!  I think I may have elevated this to an artform.  Unfortunately, I don’t think there is any fame or glory in my talent.

Since we have moved to the new house, we finally have a wood-burning fireplace and we have had a fire at least 2-3 times a week.  Each time my husband makes a fire, I am there with my special telescoping skewer, roasting away.  It’s a good thing I have made friends again with my fitbit and treadmill or this would not end well.

So today, my new fireplace/marshmallows are my favorites : )

  1. Don’t sell yourself short! You have a definite talent for writing. I love reading your blog. I can always picture the scene in my head, you describe it so well.
Btw, maybe you can tell us your secret to toasting the perfect 👌 marshmallows! I always burn mine or they fall in the fire! 😔

    1. Thank you so much! Can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. For the marshmallows, you don’t use the fire. You find some really hot coals and use those instead. That way you have more control and less fire risk. Too bad I know this!😳
